On 4th March 2023, Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Information & Broadcasting, launched the Yuva Utsava-India@2047 from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar in Punjab.
- Anurag Thakur also unveiled the Yuva Utsava Dashboard during the event.
- “Yuva Utsav India @2047” is being held in all Indian districts by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MoYAS) through its flagship youth organisation, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS).
Yuva Utsava:
i. Yuva Utsava was simultaneously hosted at 12 locations: Pratapgarh(Uttar Pradesh), Haridwar (Uttrakhand), Dhar and Hosangabad (Madhya Pradesh), Hanumangarh (Rajasthan), Saraiekela (Jharkhand), Kapurthala (Punjab), Jalgaon(Maharastra), Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Karimnagar (Telangana), Palakhad (Kerala), Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu).
ii. Yuva Utsava will be held in 150 districts across India by March 31, 2023, as part of the 1st phase, to celebrate youth power.
- The program’s 1st phase is scheduled to be held from March 4 to March 31, 2023.
iii. The theme for the Yuva Utsav will be Panch Pran (5 resolves):
- Goal of developed India
- To remove any trace of slavery or colonial mindset
- Take pride in our heritage and legacy
- Unity and solidarity
- Sense of duty among citizens
iv. “Yuva Shakti se Jan Bhagidari” will be the driving force for this grand celebration of the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence leading up to India@2047.
Key Highlights:
i. At the event, Anurag Thakur stated that India has the biggest Yuva Shakti in the world, which strives to achieve immense potential.
ii. In the 1st phase, the Yuva Utsav programs are being hosted by schools and colleges of the districts, with broad-based participants/footfall from neighbouring educational institutions apart from the Youth Volunteers and Members of the Youth Club affiliated with NYKS.
iii. A one-day District Level Yuva Utsav will be held between March and June 2023 as the first stage of this three-tiered pan-Indian festival of Yuva Shakti.
iv. The District Level Yuva Utsav champions will participate in the State Level Yuva Utsav, a 2-day program planned to be held from August to September 2023 at State Capitals.
v. The winners of all State-level competitions shall take part in the National Level Yuva Utsav, which will take place in Delhi around the 3rd/4th week of October 2023.
vi. Youth artists, writers, photographers, and orators will compete across the 3 levels, and traditional artists will showcase the rich cultural legacy of India.
vii. Youth between the ages of 15 and 29 are eligible to participate in programs and competitions at the district, state, and national levels, with winners moving on to the next level.
