The government of Tripura has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NIXI-CSC Data Services Centre(NIXI-CSC), a joint venture of the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) and CSE e-governance services Ltd, to establish an international standard Data Centre at Indranagar, headquarters of IT Bhavan, Tripura.
- The data centre will function under the control of the NIXI-CSC Data Services Centre.
- The proposed centre will generate jobs for the highly skilled IT professionals of Tripura.
Signatories:
AK Bhattacharjee, in-charge director of the IT department signed the MoU on behalf of the Tripura government and Anil Kumar Jain, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NIXI signed on behalf of NIXI-CSC Data Services Centre.
Features of the MoU:
i.Under this MoU, NIXI-CSC Data Services Centre will invest Rs 150 crore for the establishment of the Data Centre and the State government of Tripura will provide space for the centre.
ii.Under this MoU, the NIXI-CSC Data Services Centre will allow the Tripura government to host all its data in the proposed Data Centre and it will also provide data to the state free of cost.
iii.NIXI-CSC Data Services Centre will charge for data exchange to other government and private parties.
Tripura Launches New Scheme: Tripura Industrial Investment Promotion Incentive Scheme 2022
The government of Tripura has launched a new scheme “Tripura Industrial Investment Promotion Incentive Scheme (TIIPIS), 2022” to boost the industrial development of Tripura. The scheme was launched for the next 5 years.
The scheme was approved by the state cabinet led by Chief Minister (CM) Biplab Kumar Deb.
- Under TIIPIS 2022, various subsidies would be provided to companies and Self Help Groups for setting up industries in Tripura.
- This scheme encourages the entrepreneurs to set up industrial units based on the local raw materials and some demand-based service and manufacturing sector activities related to tourism promoting activities like ropeways and processing of plastic waste and e-waste, municipal waste.
Incentives approved under TIIPIS 2022:
i.Capital Investment Subsidy for MSME on fixed capital investment, maximum limit of subsidy is Rs 100 Lakhs for non-thrust sector enterprises and Rs 125 Lakhs for thrust sector enterprises
ii.Capital Investment Subsidy for Large scale enterprises on the investment made in land and building is Rs.200 Lakhs per enterprise.
iii.Capital Investment Subsidy for Private Sector Infrastructure Developer for creation of industrial infrastructure with the land area not below 30 acres, 30% of capital investment subject to an upper ceiling of Rs 500 Lakhs.
Transport subsidy:
The government of Tripura has increased the transport subsidy from 10% to 50%.
The transport subsidy will provide 50% of the transportation cost incurred for ferrying secondary raw materials from outside the state in place of the existing 10% transport subsidy for transportation of finished goods.
