The Indian Navy has conducted the 1st ever Maritime Partnership Exercise with the Moroccan Navy.
- Indian Naval Ship (INS) Tabar, the 3rd Warship of the Talwar class frigate built for the Indian Navy in Russia, participated in a Maritime Partnership Exercise with Royal Moroccan Navy ship ‘Lieutenant Colonel Arrahman’ off Casablanca port as a part of its ongoing 4-month deployment (June to September 2021) across Europe & Africa.
- Communication drills, replenishment at sea procedures and naval manoeuvres were undertaken during the exercise.
Key Points:
i.INS Tabar has reached Alexandria harbour in Egypt. INS Tabar was received by officials from the Egyptian Navy and the Indian defence attache.
ii.Navy ships that have visited Alexandria for Exercise Bright Star with Egypt are also present for the reception of INS Tabar.
iii.About ‘Exercise Bright Star 2021’: Egypt Army hosted the joint military exercise ‘Bright Star 2021’, the largest multinational military training in the Middle East. 21 countries have participated in the exercise including the US, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, France, Britain, Greece, Italy etc.
