Shaili Singh wins Silver in Long jump
i.Shaili Singh (Uttar Pradesh) wins the Silver Medal in Women’s long jump event with 6.59 metres. She missed the Gold Medal by just 1 Centimeter (cm) to Maja Askag of Sweden.
ii.It is the 1st Long jump Medal for India at the U20 World event, While Anju George’s Bronze Medal is the only Long Medal at the 2003 Senior World Athletics event.
Amit Kumar won Silver in Men’s 10,000 m Race
i.Amit Kumar (Haryana) wins Silver Medal at the debut International event in the Men’s 10,000 m Race by finishing with a time of 42 minutes 17:94 seconds.
ii.Haristone Wanyonyi of Kenya won Gold Medal with a time of 42:10.84s and Paul McGrath of Spain took home bronze in 42:31.11s.
iii.Amit set a new national record at the Junior Federation Cup, 2021 with a time of 40:40.97s.
India’s 4×400 Mixed Relay Team Won Bronze Medal
i.The Indian Mixed Relay team comprising Bharath Sridhar, Priya H Mohan, Summy & Kapil won the Bronze Medal in the 4×400 event with a time of 3:20:60s.
- It was India’s 1st-ever medal in a relay event at the global level.
ii.Nigeria won Gold with a time of 03:19:70s & Poland won the Silver Medal with 03:19:80s
