The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath launched the Rashtriya Swasthya Sevak Abhiyan in Lucknow by launching the Health Warrior Portal. Under the campaign, Health workers will be trained to fight COVID-19.
- The Health Volunteers will reach every village of UP to create awareness and to save them from the 3rd wave of the COVID pandemic.
- It is a follow up to the national campaign ‘Rashtriya Swasthya Swayamsevak Abhiyan’ launched by the BJP president JP Nadda on July 28, 2021.
Rashtriya Swasthya Swayamsevak Abhiyan
The Rashtriya Swasthya Swayamsevak Abhiyan (National Health Volunteer Campaign) was launched to train health volunteers across India to fight COVID-19.
- Under the campaign, a target was set to train 4 lakh health volunteers across 2 Lakh Indian villages through the programme and train 4 lakh health volunteers across India.
- Each village will have 2 Health volunteers (One male and one Female Health Volunteer) to take care of their respective villages to generate awareness about COVID protocols and to increase immunity.
- The volunteers will be equipped with an oximeter, thermometer, antibody boosters and Rapid Antigen Test kit
