Haryana Chief Minister launched ‘Sanjeevani Pariyojana’ to provide for supervised and quick medical care at home for people in rural areas with mild to moderate symptoms of COVID-19.
- The pilot project is supported by Deloitte, and the implementation of the initiative will begin from Karnal district.
- The initiative will raise awareness about the second wave of COVID-19 and ways to treat it.
- The initiative will help in transforming the healthcare services provided to the people of Haryana.
Key Points
As part of the initiative,
i.An integrated command and control center for managing critical resources like availability of hospital beds, oxygen supply, ambulance tracking and door-to-door awareness campaign will be set up.
- It will give a bird’s eye view of the healthcare system to district administration.
ii.A COVID-19 hotline will be set up, it will support basic training and guidance for patients with suspected or clinically diagnosed COVID-19.
iii.It will also mobilise 200 medical final year and pre-final year students, and interns for expanding the scope of medical advice.
iv.ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers will continue to provide primary front-line healthcare support, and inform citizens about the benefit of Sanjeevani Pariyojana.
v.Pilot project ‘Swasth Karnal-Banega Misal’ will ensure medical assistance, including tele-consultation, homecare kit, field hospitals, etc to help patients fight Covid from home.
