Reliance Industry Limited’s (RIL) technology wing Jio Platforms and e-learning startup Byju’s have made it to the TIME Magazine’s first-ever list ‘TIME 100 Most Influential Companies’, which is an expansion of the TIME100 franchise.
- Jio Platforms was listed under the Innovation category and listed for “leading digital transformation” in India.
- Byju’s was listed under the Disruptors category.

Jio Platforms
i.Jio Platforms was listed under the Innovation category alongside Zoom, Adidas, TikTok, Ikea, Moderna and Netflix.
ii.Jio Platform is working with Facebook to develop a WhatsApp-based e-commerce platform, and Google to roll out low-cost 5G smartphones.
iii.The magazine has listed Jio Platform for “leading digital transformation” in India.
Byju’s:
i.Byju’s was listed under the Disruptors category alongside Tesla, Huawei, Shopify, Airbnb and DiDi Chuxing.
ii.Byju’s has also created markets outside India including the US, UK, Indonesia, Mexico and Brazil.
iii.In India, as a part of its expansion Byju’s acquired Aakash Educational Services, a leading test-prep school, for almost $1 billion.
iv.The Byju’s has acquired WhiteHat Jr, an app that teaches kids to code.It also acquired educational-game maker Osmo in 2019 .
