On March 24, 2021, Maldives Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services inaugurated the renovated ‘Fiyavathi Home for Vulnerable Children’ in Hulhumale. A Cash grant of ~ 1.9 Million Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) (~Indian Rupee(INR) 89 Lakh) was allocated for the completion of this project.
- The main aim of the project is to create a conducive home environment for children to grow and develop.
- The ‘Fiyavathi’ home in Hulhumale houses over 110 kids.
- The 1.9 Million MVR is part of India’s total grant assistance of MVR 200 Million to the Maldives for supporting socially impactful projects.
Elements of the Project
Upgradation of the security system, creating play areas for toddlers, planting trees, setting up common rooms furnished with computers and play stations were carried out.
