WE Hub and JKEDI Signs MoU to Promote Entrepreneurship and Startup Culture in J&K and Telangana

WE-HUB-ties-up-with-J&K-institute-to-incubate-start-upsOn February 19, 2021 WE Hub(Women Entrepreneurship Hub), India’s first and only state-led incubator of the government of Telangana for women entrepreneur and Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) virtually signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) to boost the entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem in Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir(J&K).

Aim: To provide a platform for budding entrepreneurs from Telangana and J&K. The partnership will promote women entrepreneurship.

Key People:

The MoU was signed by Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary (Information Technology, Electronics & Communications-ITE&C) Government of Telangana who is also on the Board of WE Hub, and M K Dwivedi, Commissioner Secretary (Industries and Commerce Department) Government of J&K.

Provisions of MoU:

Pre-incubation programme

Under the MoU, the organisations┬а will start a pre-incubation programme for 60 aspiring entrepreneurs, 30 each from the two States.

This initiative will help create a startup exchange module between JKEDI and WE-Hub with five startups each from the two states.

Startup Ideas┬а

WE HUB will take their startup ideas forward,┬а track their progress and link them with suitable mentors, help them take beyond Proof of Concept (PoC).

It will also enroll the best ideas as virtual/physical incubates at JKEDI.

Co-incubation programme

Post the pre-incubation programme, the 60 startups will undergo a co-incubation programme.

This programme enables startups to upgrade to potential companies and receive rapid growth mentorship from the leaders at JKEDI and WE Hub.

Benefits

Apart from enhancing the┬а entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem in 2 states, it also helps to┬а establish entrepreneurship development cells, innovation and incubation centers in colleges. In colleges, a module of entrepreneurship course will also be offered along with other degree programmes.
