The Department of School and Mass Education, Government of Odisha in collaboration with United Nations Children’s Fund(UNICEF), launched a new career portal – Odisha career portal – for secondary and higher secondary students. This portal will enable adolescent students to get expert advice on their future career.
Samir Ranjan Dash, Odisha’s School and Mass Education Minister launched the Odisha career portal on 24th December 2020.

Satyabrat Sahoo, Principal Secretary, School and Mass Education Department, Bhupindar Singh Poonia, State Project Director(SPD) of Odisha School Education Programme Authority(OSEPA) along with other dignitaries participated in the event.
About the Odisha career portal:
Features:
i.The bilingual portal is available in both Odia and English.
ii.The portal provides localised and contextualised contents to support the students.
iii.The students can also access the career guidance service through a mobile application which was created to support the portal.
iv.The portal will allow the students to interact with mentors of reputed professionals and vocational institutes and provide a better understanding about the potential career opportunity.
Significance:
i.The portal provides information about career, colleges, professional courses, vocational courses, entrance exams and scholarship opportunities.
ii.The portal also includes the information on more than 550 career paths and provides access to more than 262000 colleges and vocational institutes with more than 17000 undergraduates, post graduate colleges and vocational institutes in Odisha and India.
iii.This portal will provide detailed information about 1150 entrance exams and its application procedures.
iv.It will also provide the information of around 1120 scholarships, competitions and fellowship for higher education in India and abroad.

On 19th October 2020 Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha launched the electricity consumer service portal “Mo Bidyut” and mobile application, over a virtual platform. The portal was developed by the Energy Department and dedicated to the public under the 5T (Team work, Transparency, Technology, Time leading to Transformation) mechanism, an initiative of the government of Odisha.
