On 3rd December 2020, the 2nd edition of “Kotak Wealth Hurun – Leading Wealthy Women” 2020 was jointly launched by Kotak Wealth Management, a division of Kotak Mahindra Bank(Kotak) and Hurun India. Roshni Nadar Malhotra (32 years), the chairperson of HCL Technologies has topped the Kotak Wealth Hurun India 2020 and was named as India’s richest woman with a wealth of Rs.54,850 crore.
Note:
In July 2020, Roshni Nadar Malhotra succeeded her Father Shiv Nadar, the founder and Chairperson of HCL and took over as the Chairperson of HCL.
2nd Edition of “Kotak Wealth Hurun – Leading Wealthy Women”:
i.Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairperson and Managing Director of Biocon Limited was named the 2nd richest women of India with a wealth of Rs.36600 crore. She is the wealthiest self-made woman on the list.
ii.Leena Gandhi Tewari, Chairperson of USV Private Limited, a pharma and biotechnology company secured the 3rd position on the list.
iii.Kanika Tekriwal of JetSetGo, Anjana Reddy of Universal Sportsbiz and Vidhi Shanghvi of Sun Pharma are the youngest women on the list.
iv.The top ten of the list includes, Nilima Motaparti of Divis Laboratories, Radha Vembu co-founder of Zoho, Jayshree Ullal of Arista Networks, Renu Munjal of Hero FinCorp, Malika Chirayu Amin of Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Anu Aga and Meher Pudumjee of Thermax, and Falguni Nayar and family of Nykaa

Highlights of the List:
i.Around 19 women on the list are also featured in the Hurun India Rich List 2020 and 6 women were featured in the Hurun Global Rich List 2020.
ii.The list features 8 padma awardees and 31 self-made women of which 6 are professional managers and 25 are entrepreneurs.
iii.6 women from the startup ecosystem have also been featured on the list.
iv.Around 15% of the women on the list hail from non-metros and Mumbai tops the list with 32 women followed by Delhi with 20 and Hyderabad with 10.

i.The list was made based on the net worth of the women as on 30th September 2020.
ii.The list includes 8 billionaires and 38 with assets of more than Rs.1000 crore and above.
iii.The average wealth of the women on the 2020 list is around Rs.2725 crore and the average age was 53 years.
