On 24th October, 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated 3 Key Projects in Gujarat.
Gujarat Chief Minister, Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister, Nitin Patel were present during the virtual launch.
The Projects are:
i.Launching of Kisan Suryodaya Yojana (Electricity Scheme for Farmers)
ii.Inauguration of Paediatric Heart Hospital attached with U.N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre & Mobile Application for Tele-Cardiology.
iii.Inauguration of Girnar Ropeway, Junagadh.
Kisan Suryodaya Yojana:
i.It is a scheme for providing 16 Hours of Power Supply to Farmers, providing day-time power supply needed by farmers for irrigation.
ii.The Farmers will get 3 Phase Power Supply from 5 AM to 9 PM.
iii.Gujarat Government has allocated a budget INR 3500 Crore for installing infrastructure under this scheme by 2023.
iv.A total of 234 ‘66-Kilowatt’ transmission lines with a total length of 3490 circuit kilometers (CKM) will be established under the project, including 220 KV substations.
Areas for Implementation of Scheme:
i.Dahod, Patan, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur, Kheda, Tapi, Valsad, Anand and Gir-Somnath have been included under the scheme for the year 2020-21.
ii.The remaining districts will be covered in a phased manner by 2022-23.
Inauguration of Paediatric Heart Hospital:
i.The Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Heart and Lung Transplant Centre at the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre (UNMICRC), Ahmedabad. It is Gujarat’s First public sector heart, lung transplant centre.
ii.UNMICRC is India’s biggest hospital for cardiology and one of the select few hospitals with world-class medical infrastructure and medical facilities.
iii.It is being expanded at a cost of INR 470 Crores, after which the number of beds will increase from 450 to 1251.
iv.It is also set to become the biggest single super speciality cardiac teaching institute in the country and one of the biggest single super speciality cardiac hospitals in the world.
India’s First Advanced Cardiac ICU on wheels:
The research centre will be equipped with India’s First Advanced Cardiac ICU (Intensive Care Unit) on Wheels with O.T. (Occupational Therapy).
Mobile Application for Tele-Cardiology:
The Prime Minister also launched a Mobile Application for tele-cardiology at the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad.
Girnar Ropeway:
i.The Prime Minister also inaugurated Girnar Ropeway on Mount Girnar, Junagadh. It has a height of 900 meters and will cover a distance of 2.3 Kms in 7.5 Minutes through the ropeway.
ii.It is the World’s Longest Temple Ropeway project and has been constructed at a cost of INR 130 Crores.
iii.Initially the ropeway will have 25-30 cabins with a capacity of 8 people per cabin.
iv.The ropeway is expected to improve tourism in Mount Girnar which is a major pilgrim site the Amba Temple, Dattatreya Shrine and many other Hindu and Jain temples.
