On October 8, 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched ‘Jan Andolan’ (People’s Participation) campaign for following COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour. The awareness campaign will promote COVID-19 behaviour ahead of the upcoming festive season and the reopening of the economy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the citizens to “Wear Mask, Wash Hands, Follow Social Distance and Practice ‘Do Gaj Ki Doori’ (a distance of two yards)”.
Key Points:
i.The Main aim of the campaign is to ensure that information reaches each and every citizen.
ii.The campaign will promote region-specification communication to spread messages with special emphasis on districts with a high number of cases.
iii.They will be spread through various media platforms such as online posts, audio messages, posters, hoardings and banners and will target the beneficiaries of Government Schemes.
iv.It will also seek support of local cable operators to run COVID messages for effective reach and impact.
v.Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar stated that, Proper dissemination of precautionary measures on all media platforms throughout the country will be put out.
