On 17th August, 2020, Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM-K) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Switzerland based HELP Logistics to engage in a collaborative partnership to provide consulting services and logistics training for the humanitarian community in South Asia.

Objective:
The aim of the MoU is to develop humanitarian logistics in India by providing consulting services and logistic training to entities which act immediately during humanitarian crises such as United Nations bodies, Government Institutions and Non-Governmental Organisations.
Key points of the MoU:
i.The MoU will be valid for a period of one year during which it will carry out activities that will take efforts to shape supply chains to benefit humanity amidst the prevailing uncertaining in the world.
ii.The MoU includes financial support and aims to increase the regional knowledge and awareness on humanitarian logistic matters among humanitarian agencies.
iii.The MoU will attempt to achieve the following objectives
- Consulting: IIMK & HELP Logistics would develop new products such as learning programs, games, optimisation models in the domain of Humanitarian Supply Chain (HSC) to make humanitarian operations more efficient and effective.
- Training: IIMK & HELP Logistics would offer high-quality learning and training programmes to the practitioners in the HSC across all levels (operational, tactical and strategic).
- Collaboration and outreach: IIMK & HELP Logistics to carry out research in the field of HSC through surveys, case studies/action research and present it in seminars, academic conferences and tradeshows. It will also involve knowledge sharing through publication of white papers, journal articles, newspaper articles.
