The 2019 World Archery Youth Championships took place from 19-25 August 2019 in Madrid, Spain. India had totally won 2 golds and 1 bronze in this recently concluded championship.2019 World Archery Youth Championships

Key points:
Gold to India:
i.Raginee Markoo and Singh Sukhbeer won India’s first gold medal by beating Switzerland’s Janine Hunsperger and Andrea Vallaro, 152-147, to win India’s first compound junior mixed teamgold medal at the Madrid. Switzerland’s silver medal is the first podium finish at a world championship since 2006.
ii.The second gold to india was earned by Komalika Bari, becoming therecurve cadet world champion  at the World Archery Youth Championship by defeating  higher-ranked Sonoda Waka of Japan 7-3 in the  final. The bronze medal was won by Jang Mi of Republic of Korea.
Komalika Bari: Jamshedpur-born Tata Archery Academy cadet, Komalika(17 years) ranks second in the recurve cadet of India’s  world champion (under-18) category after Deepika Kumari who won the title in 2009.

Bronze medal:
i.India clinched the bronze medal in the compound junior men’s teamevent by beating Colombia in the play-offs. The trio Sangampreet Bisla, Sanjay Phadtare including gold medalist Singh Sukhbeer,defeated Colombia’s Singh Mejia, Felipe Zuluage and Manuel Toro Vasquez with a score of 234-231.
