3rd Edition of India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2019 was held in Aerocity, New Delhi from October 14 -16, 2019 under the theme “Imagine: a new Connected world; Intelligent. Immersive. Inventive”. It was organised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India and Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). IMC is the largest digital technology forum in South Asia.Key Points:
i.The 3 day event was inaugurated by the Telecom Secretary Mr Anshu Prakash.
ii.COAI represents Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio.
iii.IMC won “The Knowledge Hub” award at the Exhibition Excellence Awards 2019.
Tejas Networks launched world’s largest disaggregated packet-optical switch named TJ1600S/I
Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister for Communications, Electronics & Information Technology and Law & Justice unveiled the world’s largest disaggregated multi-terabit packet-optical switch optimized for 5G, cloud and broadband networks named TJ1600S/I manufactured by Tejas Networks in the presence of Shri Anshu Prakash, Chairman of Digital Communications Commission (DCC) and Secretary (T), Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
i. It is used for interconnecting hyperscale data centers and to build multi-terabit backbone networks.
ii. It is the latest addition to Tejas’s TJ1600 series of carrier-class products for optical aggregation, metro and core networks.
iii. It can handle up to 48 terabits of data traffic while optimizing shelf space and power consumption.
Mavenir, the industry’s only end-to-end cloud-native 4G and 5G network software provider for communications service providers (CSPs) was presented with 2 awards at the event namely
i. Most Innovative Network Transformation Initiative award 2019 for its virtualized Pre-Integrated Network Services.
ii. Most Innovative Approach to Network Security award 2019 for its Security and Fraud Management Suite.
