The 1st edition of Asia Health-2019 conference with the theme Serving the World’s Fastest Growing Region through Healthcare Convergence, organized jointly by the National Health Authority and CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) held in New Delhi from 16 – 19 October 2019 with the aim to bring multiple stakeholders together to discuss the future of Health.CII's Asia Health- 2019Key points:
i.
The conference included all the events and initiatives of the Healthcare Department comprising CII 12th Medical Technology Summit, CII Ayurveda Conclave, CII 16th Health Summit, CII Health Tech, CII Public Health Conference, CII 13th Health Insurance Summit and CII National Pharmaceuticals Conclave.
ii.The event saw the release of two studies- the 1st on India as a Health Tech Hub which documents data related to present Health Technology ecosystems in India &2nd was an Executive Summary on Ayushmaan 2.0 – Future forward – a proposal that is currently being worked upon by the CII National Committee on Health Insurance.

Dr Jitendra Singh chairs the Asia Health- 2019 conference
On October 17, 2019, Dr. Jitendra Singh,the Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (I/C), Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space has chaired the Asia Health-2019 conference in New Delhi .
Key points:
i. The event saw the appreciation of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana ,a unique and successful health insurance scheme launched in 2018 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi .More than 50 lakh people have benefited from this scheme.
ii. India is a younger nation as 70 % of its population is below 40 years of age will achieve central government’s  vision of making India a 5 trillion economy by the year 2024.
iii. With the theme for 2019-20 as ‘Competitiveness of India Inc – India@75: Forging Ahead’, CII will focus on 5 priority areas (employment generation, rural-urban connect, energy security, environmental sustainability and governance) which would make India to stay on a better growth track.
