The Denmark Open 2022 presented by VICTOR, a badminton tournament, was held at the Arena Fyn in Odense, Denmark, from 18 to 23 October 2022
- It was the 17th tournament of the 2022 Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour and the prize money is US$750,000.
- China has dominated the tournament by winning mixed doubles, women’s doubles, women’s singles and men’s singles.

i.China won their first title in the mixed doubles final.
ii.In the men’s singles final, China’s Shi Yuqi, defeated Indonesia’s third-ranked Lee Zii Jia by 21-18, 16-21, 21-12.
iii.In women’s singles final He Bingjiao defeated Chen Yufei by 20, 12-21, 21-10.
iv.Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan won their sixth title from six final appearance in 2022 in the women’s doubles.
v.Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong clinch eighth title of 2022 at the Denmark Open 2022.
India at Denmark Open 2022:
i.India’s Lakshya Sen lost to Japan’s Kodai Naraoka in the men’s singles quarterfinal.
ii.Indian men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty bowed out of the tournament in the quarterfinals after a defeat from Malaysian duo of Aaron Chia and Wooi Yik Soh.
Point to be noted:
It should be noted that as per the Badminton world rankings released on October 25, 2022, Double Olympic medallist Pusarla Venkata Sindhu and Thomas Cup winner HS Prannoy gained a spot each to reach the 5th and 12th positions in women’s and men’s singles world rankings.
- PV Sindhu possesses 87218 points from 26 tournaments, and Prannoy has 64,330 points from 26 tournaments.
