12th Global Employability University Ranking & Survey 2022-23: IIT-D tops Indian Universities, MIT Globally

7 Indian universities on Global Employability University RankingThe Times Higher Education (THE) released the 12th edition of its annual Global Employability University Ranking and Survey (GEURS) 2022-2023 which was conducted by HR consultancy Emerging and published by THE. It featured 7 Indian universities among the top 250 universities in the world for graduate employability.

  • The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) was the highest-ranked Indian university with a global rank of 28th, and the only Indian institute in the top 50. It was ranked 27th in 2021 rankings.
  • IIT-Delhi followed by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore(Bengaluru) at 58th and IIT Bombay(Mumbai) at 72 are the only Indian institutes among the top 100 on the list.
    Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States of America(USA) has topped the Global University Employability Ranking 2022 globally.

Basis of Assessment:

The higher education institutions are ranked by employability performance based on employers’ direct assessment. For 2022-23 edition 98,014 votes were incorporated from employers worldwide to reveal which universities are the best at preparing students for the workplace. The assessment is based upon the following 6 Key Employability Drivers:

iv.Focus on Work Expertise

v.Digital Performance

ii.The IIM-A was the only IIM that featured on the list.

iii.India’s Amity University and Bangalore University are among the new entrants on the 2022 list.

iv.France, Germany and China are among the best-represented countries in the employability ranking, along with the United Kingdom (UK) and the US.

v.As per the survey, digital skills have become the most important factor to employers along with subject specialization and work expertise.

About GEURS:

First released in 2010, the GEURS ranking is for employability. It is the only university ranking based solely on the point of view of employers, and first most consulted ranking by international employers.
