Rafael Nadal claimed his record-breaking 21st Grand Slam Men’s Singles Title at the first Grand Slam of 2022 i.e. the 2022 Australian Open was held at Melbourne Park, Melbourne in Australia on January 17-30, 2022. Organized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), it was the 110th edition of the Australian Open, and the 54th in the Open Era.Â

i.Rafael Nadal claimed his record-breaking 21st Grand Slam title. With this he becames the only player to win the most grand slam titles, skipping Switzerland’s Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic of Serbia; both tied at 20 each.
- In the history of Open era, 35-year-old Nadal has become the third-oldest man to win a Grand Slam title. Ken Rosewall and Roger Federer are the earlier two. He is also only the second man to have won all four Grand Slams at least twice.
ii.Ashleigh Barty won the first Australian Open singles title by an Australian in 44 years.
iii.Nicholas Hilmy Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis became the first homegrown pair to win the men’s doubles title in Australia since Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde, aka the Woodies, won in 1997.
iv.Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova clinched their fourth career Grand Slam women’s doubles title.This is their first Australian Open title
