The 10th edition of the Raisina Dialogue held from 17-19 March, 2025The 10th edition of Raisina Dialogue, India’s flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-economics, took place from March 17 to 19, 2025 in New Delhi, Delhi . The event was jointly inaugurated by Prime Minister (PM) of India Narendra Modi and  PM of New Zealand (NZ) Christopher Luxon who  attended the event as the Chief Guest (CG).

  • The conference is organized by New Delhi based Observer Research Foundation(ORF) in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs(MEA).
  • The Dialogue also hosts the Raisina Ideas Pod in partnership with Firstpost, India’s premier international news platform owned by Network18 Group, featuring specially curated ministerial sessions and conversations of issues of global importance.
  • The Dialogue saw participation from around 3,500 attendees representing nearly 125 countries, with millions worldwide watching the event online.

Theme:

  • The theme of the 2025 edition of the Raisina Dialogue is “Kālachakra – People, Peace, and Planet”.
  • Over three days, global leaders will discuss six key themes: political shifts, sustainability challenges, digital governance, trade policies, development strategies, and peace-building.

About Raisina Dialogue:

i.The Raisina Dialogue has been held annually in New Delhi since 2016.

ii.It follows a multi-stakeholder, cross-sectoral format, bringing together heads of state, cabinet ministers, and local government officials, alongside thought leaders from the private sector, media, and academia.

iii.The 9th edition Raisina Dialogue was held with the theme ‘Chaturanga: Conflict, Contest, Cooperate, Create’ in New Delhi from February 21 to 23, 2024.

Highlights of Raisina Dialogue 2025:

Union Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar Holds Key Bilateral Meetings:

During the Raisina Dialogue 2025 Union Minister S. Jaishankar, MEA held several high-level meetings with global leaders.

Key Discussions:

i.Union Minister Jaishankar had a meeting with Foreign Minister of Latvia , Baiba Braze, to discuss Ukraine-related issues and India’s relations with the European Union (EU). In a meeting with Antigua & Barbuda’s Foreign Minister, Chet Greene, they explored collaboration in health, education, sports, and capacity building.

ii.He also held discussions with Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General (DG) of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), focusing on nuclear safety and non-proliferation. With Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Khaleel, he reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation.

iii.Union Minister held a meeting with Thailand’s Foreign Minister, Maris Sangiampongsa, to enhance cooperation in digital technology, connectivity, food security, and BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation).

  • He also discussed strengthening bilateral and multilateral ties with Peruvian Foreign Minister, Elmer Schialer Salcedo, and witnessed an agreement exchange between the National Archives of India(NAI) and the General Archives of Peru.

iv.During his discussion with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, he acknowledged Ukraine’s perspective on peace negotiations and highlighted the opening of Ukraine’s new Consulate General in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

v.Union Minister S. Jaishankar discussed Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), United Nations (UN) collaboration, and the Ukraine conflict with Liechtenstein’s Foreign Minister. In talks with Cuba’s Deputy PM, he focused on healthcare and traditional medicine.

vi.Nepal’s Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba held talks at the Raisina Dialogue 2025, focusing on trade, hydropower, and climate action.Union Minister S. Jaishankar met Deuba to discuss India-Nepal ties and regional cooperation.

vii.On the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue Union Minister Jaishankar met Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili. Their discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, and education.

Bisleri & ORF Launch Book on Water Credits:

During the Dialogue, Bisleri International Private Limited based in Mumbai(Maharashtra) in partnership with the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), based in New Delhi introduced a book titled ‘Trading Blue Gold: A Blueprint for Water Credit Valuation in India’ in New Delhi..

  • The book is coauthored by Nilanjan Ghosh and Soumya Bhowmick.
  • The book seeks to expand the concept of water credit valuation beyond the beverage industry.
