WHO Foundation Appoints Indian-origin Anil Soni as its 1st CEO

Indian-origin Anil Soni appointed as CEO for WHO FoundationOn December 8, 2020  WHO Foundation appointed Anil Soni, Indian-origin global health expert as its 1st Chief Executive Officer(CEO) or inaugural CEO. He will take charge on January 1, 2021.

Responsibilities of CEO

Anil Soni as a CEO will expedite the work of WHO Foundation to invest in innovative, evidence-based initiatives that support WHO(World Health Organisation) to deliver on its mission to ensure healthy lives and improve well-being for everyone.

About Anil Soni:

i.Anil Soni has 20 years of work experience in the global health sector.

ii.Prior to his appointment as CEO of WHO Foundation, he served as the Head of Global Infectious Diseases at Vitaris.

iii.He served as the CEO of the Clinton Health Access Initiative.

iv.He served as the Advisor to the Executive Director(2002-2004) of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS(Acquired ImmunoDeficiency Syndrome), Tuberculosis and Malaria .

v.He served as theFoundingExecutive Director of Friends of the Global Fight from 2004-2005.

vi.He also has served as the senior advisor to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the MDG Health Alliance.

Note– WHO Launched Global Fundraising Campaign #Invested  and targets $1 Billion in Donations for Global Health by 2023.
