Dear friends, this is Balaji.S from Virudhunagar, Tamilnadu.
I have completed my engineering in EEE in 2013. Being Engineer is not easy, people will ask you the question like what are you going to do after completing engineering. In my case, I enjoyed my college life really well but didn’t learn anything in engineering and came out as an useless engineer. Really don’t know what to do after completing my engineering and spend one year in Chennai to find the good job but failed. Then decided to prepare for government exams not particularly ibps, preparing for all government exams like upsc, ssc, railway, tnpsc & ibps.
Attended all the government exams which held in between 2014 – 2015 and again failed. I didn’t pass single exam and got frustrated. And I was thinking to quit because my mom told that you are not suitable for government exams, you better go to Chennai again to find any other job. At that time, my dad who supported me and again he gave me the one year of time to prepare for government exams.
At that time, I told myself, Balaji this is your last chance and don’t let it go. So, I have looked back my previous year and how many exams i have attended and what mistakes i did in those exams and finally, sort out my mistakes which i did in previous year. Then decided to prepare for IBPS particularly, other exam portions are vast compared to ibps. So, opted to go with IBPS.
My real preparation started in May 2015, prepared for SBI PO 2015. In sbi po prelims i got 44.5 and in mains i got 78 and got rejected. Even though, I’m happy with my performance in sbi po 2015 and it gave me lot of confidence. We have to move on, of course u can’t change the past. With that last exam confidence, my preparation went towards RRB PO & Clerk but my ultimate target was Ibps PO 5.
In RRB PO 4 : 102.8 – Rejected.
In RRB Clerk 4 : 103.3 – Rejected.
Didn’t give up . Pull up my socks and prepared hard for Ibps PO 5. And I gave up all my entertainments and really put my 100% hard work.
In Ibps PO 5 Prelims : 48.5
In Ibps PO 5 Mains : 97.5 ( R – 30, QA – 14.5, E – 11.25, GA – 28.5, CK – 13.25 )
In Ibps PO 5 Interview : 50
My final score : 49 and my category cutoff is 46.7

On April 1st 2016, I saw my result at 1.15 pm, OMG I can’t explain my happiness. Got so many phone calls and wishes.
My strategies in section wise:
Maths – I’m not well in Arithmetic but strong in data interpretation. Do different kind of D.I, avoid easy DI and do hard D.I , yup it takes lot of time but you can see different types of questions and tricky questions you can’t see it in easy DI.
Reasoning – It is the scoring section and you know that. Don’t omit the topics unnecessarily & try to solve hard puzzle, data efficiency, cause and effects, statements and assumptions, If you want to score high in any exams, you have to be strong in reasoning.
English – Sorry guys, I’m not that good in English. But try to read any English newspapers and Financial or Business magazines.
General Awareness – Make hand written notes, that’s the only way to get more marks. And mug up all the static GK.
Computer – Computer is easy for everyone.
And last but not least, do any online mock test, you have so many options like career power, olive board, BSC.
Time allocation :
Maths : 40 mins
Reasoning : 40 mins
English : 25 mins
GA&CK : 15 mins
That’s it friends. According to me, 8 months is enough to clear ibps po but all you need is focus, hard work and patience. You know about you very well so correct your mistakes. Set the target , give your best and achieve that target.
Be brutal, be tough.
