- South Korea topped the medal tally with 10 medals (6 Gold and 4 Silver).
World Archery Youth Championships 2023:
i.The World Archery Youth Championships 2023 witnessed the participation of 518 archers (277 men and 241 women) from 58 countries competing for medals in individual and team events in the Under-21(U21) and Under-18(U18) age categories.
- Team India represented by 12 archers each in the U21 and U18 age groups.
ii.India’s U21 archery squad led by compound archers Prathamesh Jawkar and Pragati and India’s U18 archery squad led by 17-year-old women’s compound archer Aditi Gopichand Swami.
iii.World Archery Youth Championships 2023 medals were designed and minted by the Monnaie de Paris.

Parth Salunkhe becomes 1st Indian male archer to win Gold in Youth World Championship (recurve category)
i.The 19-year old Parth Salunkhe from Maharashtra becomes the 1st Indian male archer to win a gold medal in Recurve men’s individual by defeating South Korea’s Song Injun.
- He also won a Bronze medal in the Recurve mixed team along with Ridhi.
ii.Youth World Champion: Parth Salunkhe is the first male archer (recurve category) and sixth Indian archer to become Youth World Champion.
- Previously in women’s recurve section, Deepika Kumari had become cadet and youth world champion in 2009 and 2011, while Komalika Bari won the cadet and youth world champion in 2019 and 2021.
- Aditi Gopichand Swami won the gold medal in Compound women individual event and Priyansh won the gold medal in Compound men’s individual event in World Archery Youth Championships 2023 are the other youth world champions from India.

The World Archery Youth Championships occurs every alternate year and the first edition was held in 1991.
Note: Indian team topped the medal tally by winning 15 Medals(including 8 Gold) in World Archery Youth Championships 2021 in Wroclaw, Poland.
