India and Mauritius sign MoU to promote cooperation in the field of Traditional Medicine and Homoeopathy

Union Government inks Memorandum of Understanding with Mauritius for the following advantages

  • Traditional system of Medicine and Homeopathy
  • Exchange of Experts, Supply of traditional medicinal substances
  • Joint research and Development
  • Recognition of the traditional systems of health and MedicineIndia & Mauritius

  • Signed between Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) and Health & Family Welfare Shri Shripad Yesso Naik and Mauritius Government
  • On more importance to both countries, as an effort to cultivate the Traditional systems of Health and Medicines followed by India into Memorandum of Understanding with China, Malaysia, Trinidad and Tobago, Hungary, Bangladesh and Nepal

Budget Allocation:

From the allocated amount during Annual Financial statement and innovative schemes of AYUSH, we need to conduct periodical meetings, Research & Development, Trainings and Exchange of experts

Common Climatic factors:

Large variety of Medicinal Plants, particularly in the tropical regions where common to the both countries

AYUSH:

  • Expanded as Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy
  • Governmental body which was created in March 1995 as the Dept of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy and renamed as AYUSH in March 2003. Literally meaning “Life”.
