Mother Teresa Memorial Awards for Social Justice 2020On 27th December 2020, the Harmony Foundation hosted the 16th annual Mother Teresa Memorial Awards(MTMA) for Social Justice and felicitated the winners of the 2020 MTMA for Social Justice.

The awards were presented to honour the acts of compassion of the unsung heroes for their contribution in the time of global pandemic.

The theme of the MTMA for Social Justice 2020 is “Celebrating Compassion In Times Of Covid”.

About Mother Teresa Memorial Awards(MTMA) for Social Justice:

The Mother Teresa Memorial Awards for Social Justice was instituted in 2005.

The award is presented to celebrate and commemorate the memory and legacy of  Mother Teresa.


This is the only award endorsed by Sister Mary Prema Pierick , the Superior General of the Missionaries of Charity, Kolkata, West Bengal, the organisation which was started by Mother Teresa.

Father Fabio Stevenazzi Milan, Italy Honouring his decision to return to medical practice to help the COVID-19 infected people.
Dr Pradeep Kumar Chennai, India For giving a burial to his colleague, who died of COVID-19 infection, at the cemetery in the city despite the protest of a mob.
Cristian Fracassi (CEO and Founder of ISINNOVA) & Alessandro Romaioli (Engineer) Italy For building the prototype on Isinnova’s 3D printers to create the parts of the use-and-throw valves for ventilators.

Maharashtra, India For opening the first relief camp for migrants in Mumbai suburbs.
Vikas Khanna(Chef) Manhattan, USA For creating FeedIndia Initiative to provide food for more than million people in 135 cities of India.

He also distributed 400,000 slippers, three million sanitary pads, and two million masks to the poor.

On 16th August 2020, The Michelin Star Chef Vikas Khanna received the 2020 Asia Game Changer Award from Asia Society, a United States based non-profit organisation for feeding millions of people across India amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, by coordinating a food distribution drive from Manhattan.
