ESPN Multi-Sport Annual Awards 2019 announced:PV Sindhu & Saurabh Chaudhary becomes Sportperson of the year Female & Male

On February 21,2020 Entertainment and Sports Programming Network(ESPN)Multi-Sport Annual Awards 2019 announced PV Sindhu & Saurabh Chaudhary as ‘sportsperson of the year 2019 female & male’. PV Sindhu received this ‘Sportsperson of the year’(Female) award for the third consecutive time. Dutee Chand was named as the first winner of the ESPN India courage award.SindhuGist about the Award
The Award acknowledges individuals and teams based on 10 categories. Based on the vote by a 16 member panel the winners are selected. Cricket is not covered as it is already included in ESPNcricinfo’s Annual Awards.

i.Balbir Singh Senior is a three time Olympic Gold medallist. He played a vital role in the Olympics held at LOndon(1948),Helsinki(1952)& Melbourne(1956).

ii.PV Sindhu won gold in  world championship win(2019).She received ‘Sportsperson of the year(Female)’ award for the third consecutive time.She is the first Indian to receive World Championship.

iii.Saurabh Chaudhary has won Gold medal in World Cup 2019. Received five world cup medals.

iv.Koneru Humpy won the Women’s World Rapid Chess Championship in Moscow 2019

v.Deepak Punia won gold in World Junior Championship and Silver in World Senior Championship 2019.

vi.Manu Bhaker – Saurabh Chaudhary won Gold in World cup 2019

vii.Manasi Joshi won Gold medal at Badminton World Federation (BWF) 2019.

viii.Dutee Chand fought against The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

ix.Pullela Gopichand nourished Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu to receive gold in Olympics.
