PM Narendra Modi visits Pune, Maharashtra to Inaugurate various Projects
i.Firstly, he unveiled the grand statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
- The seated statue made of gun metal is 9.5 feet tall and weight 1.85 tons (1850 Kg).
ii.The PM inaugurated 12 km stretch of the total 33.1 km Pune Metro Rail Project. The remaining ~21 km will become operational by March 2023. After the inauguration following stretches were opened today:
- Vanaz- Garware College (5 km elevated stretch with 5 stations)
- PCMC- Phugewadi stretch (7 km elevated stretch with 5 stations)
The first ticket was bought by the PM from Garware station to Anand Nagar.
iii.The PM also laid the foundation stone of Rejuvenation And Pollution Abatement of Mula-Mutha River projects under the ambitious National River Conservation Plan (NRCP) set up by the Central Government. It is being funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

MoCA Amends Rules on Limited Liability Partnership 2009
- Hereon LLP Rules 2009 will be called as Limited Liability Partnership (Second Amendment) Rules 2022
- It primarily deals with solvency statements and certificates of truthfulness, which are part of the annual returns.
About the amendment:
i.LLP’s statement of solvency, which must be signed by a designated partner in charge of compliance, can now be signed by a resolution professional in case of a bankruptcy.
ii.The new rules also cover the requirement of filing a certificate endorsing the truthfulness and correctness of annual returns of LLPs with sales of up to Rs.5 crore, or partner contribution of up to Rs.50 lakh.
- In case of small LLPs facing bankruptcy, the certificate could be signed by a resolution professional or administrator.

Labour Ministry launches ‘Donate-a-Pension’ initiative under PM-SYM
Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoL&E), has launched ‘Donate-a-Pension’ programme under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan Yojana (PM-SYM) for people to contribute to the pension fund to their support staff.
- This initiative is one of the events planned by MoL&E, for the ‘Iconic Week’ celebration observed from 7th to 13th March 2022, which is a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’– an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
About Donate-a-Pension initiative:
- An initiative under the PM-SYM pension scheme that encourages people to donate the premium contribution of their immediate support staff such as domestic workers, drivers, helpers, care givers, nurses, in their household or establishment or any other eligible unorganized workers.
i.The donor can pay one year’s initial contribution in one time or for more than a one-year period.
ii.The donation amount for a year is minimum Rs. 660 and maximum up to Rs. 2400 depending on the age of the beneficiary.
iii. The minimum donation period is one year. The donor can donate on https://maandhan.in/ or visit their nearest Common Service Centre.
About Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan Yojana (PM-SYM):
- A voluntary and contributory pension scheme launched in 2019, to ensure protection for unorganized workers, whose monthly income is below Rs. 15,000, age group of 18 – 40 years.
- They should not be engaged in Organized Sector (member of EPFO/NPS/ESIC) or an income tax payer
Features of PM-SYM: Each subscriber under PM-SYM shall receive,
i.A Minimum Assured Pension of Rs. 3,000 per month after attaining the age of 60 years.
ii.If a subscriber dies during the receipt of the pension, the spouse of the beneficiary shall be entitled to receive 50% of the pension as Family Pension.

Aim:
i. The Parikrama aims to understand challenges, experiences and aspirations of the fishermen community and to solve the concerns of the fishermen.
ii.The initiative looks at the scope of seafood exports as the Country has a coastline of 8118 kms.

NIESBUD signs MoU with MoRD for Implementing the Start-up Village
Entrepreneurship Programme
National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) to develop a sustainable model for promoting entrepreneurship at the grassroots by initiating the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP).
- SVEP is a sub-component of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY–NRLM) of the MoRD.
- This will support creating an innovative ecosystem, accelerating economic and social gains at the community level.
Aim:
To support entrepreneurs in rural areas to set up enterprises at the village level in non-agricultural sectors.
Key Points:
i.The MoU will enable the rural community and support them to set up their trades and provide complete support till they are stabilized.
ii.This pragmatic intervention will also provide knowledge, advisory and financial support to the public and will help create a village-level community cadre.
iii.Under this partnership, rural entrepreneurs will get access to banking systems for receiving financial support for starting their enterprises, including support from MUDRA bank.
iv.Integrated information and communications technology (ICT) techniques and tools will also be provided for training and capacity building along with enterprise advisory services to augment the entrepreneurship ecosystem in India’s villages.
Beneficiaries: The beneficiaries of the project are from the Self-Help Group (SHG) ecosystem of DAY-NRLM.
The scheme supports both the existing enterprises and new enterprises.

PM Modi Joined The Quad Leaders Meet To Focus On “Indo-Pacific Developments”
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has participated in the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD) leaders virtual meeting along with President of United States of America (USA) Joseph R Biden, Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison, and Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, which focused on the Indo-Pacific developments.
i.In March, 2021, Biden hosted the first-ever summit of the Quad leaders in the virtual format.
Objective:
i.The Quad focused on its core objective of promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
ii.Modi called for cooperation within the Quad, in areas like Humanitarian and Disaster Relief, debt sustainability, supply chains, clean energy, connectivity, and capacity-building.
Quad Summit on March, 2022:
i.The Quad discussed the developments in Ukraine, including its humanitarian implications.
ii.The Prime Minister emphasised the path of dialogue and diplomacy.
iii.The leaders discussed topical issues, situation in Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean region and the Pacific Islands.
iv.Modi reiterated the importance of adhering to the United Nations (UN) Charter, International law and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
v.The leaders agreed to carry the agenda for the forthcoming in-person Quad summit in Japan 2022.
Quad Summit on March, 2021:
The Quad vaccine partnership was announced in March,2021 with an aim to deliver 100 crore doses of vaccines to the Indo-Pacific region by the end of 2022.

The in-person summit was held in Washington, America in September and the Quad has been focusing on cooperation in areas such as:

IBBI Signs MoU with IBA for Collaborating Capacity Building 
Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), an insolvency regulator signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Banks Association (IBA) to collaborate on capacity building for financial creditors on topics related to insolvency, bankruptcy and related subjects.
- The MoU was signed during the workshop on ‘Committee of Creditors: An Institution of Public Faith’ organised jointly by IBBI, SBI(State Bank of India) and IBA at New Delhi.
- The timely resolution of insolvency cases can be undertaken by the Committee of Creditors (CoC) and Resolution Professionals / Interim Resolution Professionals (IRPs).
- Signatories – The MOU was signed by Mr. Amit Pradhan (Executive Director, IBBI) and Mr. Sunil Mehta (Chief Executive, IBA).
About CoC:
i.The CoC, formed under the regulation 21 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC),2016 is the supreme decision-making body in the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP), that affects the resolution of insolvency of the corporate debtor.

Nitin Chugh to head SBI’s Digital Banking as DMD
SBI has appointed Nitin Chugh as its Group Head of Digital Banking at the level of Deputy Managing Director (DMD) for a period of 3 years initially.
Key Points:
i.He was formerly the Group Head of Digital Banking at HDFC (2001-2019) and MD & CEO of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank (2019-2021) from where he resigned citing personal reasons in September 2021.
ii.His new position in SBI would be responsible for envisioning, developing and in execution of the bank’s digital banking strategy and business plan for imparting digital knowledge/skills in a constructive, empowering and collaborative way.
iii. The induction of Nitin Chugh took effect, when SBI – India’s largest lender targeted an increase in digital lending and vigorously promoted its app ‘YONO’.
Note: Charanjit Surinder Singh Attra was appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of SBI in 2020 from a private sector – which is a high- level lateral recruitment, prior to appointing Nitin Chugh as DMD of Digital Banking.

HANSA-NG: India’s 1st Indigenous Flying Trainer successfully completes Sea Level Trials at Puducherry
India’s first indigenous flying trainer ‘HANSA-NG (New Generation)’ designed and developed by Bengaluru (Karnataka) based CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), has successfully completed the sea-level trials at Puducherry from February 19 to March 5, 2022.
- The aircraft was flown to Puducherry covering 140 nautical miles in one-and-half-hours at a speed of 155 km per hour.
- All the objectives of the sea level trials are met.
- NAL operates under the aegis of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
About Sea Trials of HANSA-NG:
i.HANSA-NG was piloted by Wing Commander (Wg. Cdr.) K V Prakash and Wg. Cdr. Dilip Reddy of Aircraft & Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE), and the flight was monitored by NAL designers and Wg. Cdr. Reeju Chakraborty as Flight Test Director from telemetry.
ii.The objectives of the sea level trials were to evaluate handling qualities, climb/cruise performance, balked landing, and structural performance, including positive and negative G-forces, power plant and other systems performance.
About HANSA-NG:
i.This two-seater Hansa-NG is a revamped version of the original HANSA developed three decades ago.
ii.It is Powered by Rotax Digital Control Engine, and has one of the most advanced flying trainers featuring Just-In-Time Prepreg (JIPREG) Composite Lightweight Airframe, a glass cockpit, a bubble canopy with a wide panoramic view, and electrically operated flaps, etc.
iii.It is designed to meet the need for trainer aircraft by flying clubs in India.
Key Points:
i.HANSA-NG is an ideal aircraft for Commercial Pilot Licensing (CPL) due to its low cost and low fuel consumption.
ii.So far, it has completed 37 flights and 50 hours of flying and a few more were necessary before securing type certification from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
- The certification process is likely to be completed by April 2022.
iii.NAL has already received more than 80 LoIs (Letters of Intent) from various flying clubs for HANSA-NG.
NASA Begins Assembly of Europa Clipper Spacecraft
- The Spacecraft is targeted to be launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida in October 2024.
About Europa Clipper Spacecraft:
i.The spacecraft has been designed and constructed by Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
ii.Most of its hardware are expected to be assembled before 2022.

ii.2041 Climate Force is derived from the year which marks the Madrid Protocol protecting Antarctica from exploitation would come up for debate, revision, and/ or possible cancellation.
iii.The participants of the expedition will graduate as ‘Ambassadors for the Antarctic’.

BSE Partners with Tamil Nadu’s M-TIPB to Promote Listing of MSMEs
Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has collaborated with Tamil Nadu’s (TNs) Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) -Trade and Investment Promotion Bureau (M-TIPB) government to promote awareness among MSME of the TN about the benefits of listing.
- Through the collaboration, TN small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will get an opportunity to raise funds through Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) by listing in the BSE SME platform.
- An IPO refers to the process of offering shares of a private corporation to the public in a new stock issuance which raises capital from public investors.
About the collaboration:
i.As part of the collaboration, BSE will provide capacity building and soft support to SMEs in TN for fulfilling listing requirements.
- The BSE will appoint a nodal person as single point contact for providing end-to-end solutions and facilitating SMEs with respect to registration/ listing on the platform.
ii.M-TIPB will offer support in mobilising the SME representatives through district industries centres and will also help in mobilising state or regional associations to encourage their SME members to attend capacity building programmes
Note – The BSE was the 1st stock exchange in India to launch the SME platform, which was established in March 2012.

Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang has announced that the State Government will soon implement ‘Aama Yojna’, a scheme for helping non-working mothers & ‘Bahini Scheme’ benefitting girl students of the state.
About Aama Yojna:
i.The scheme aims to inculcate the habit of saving among non-working mothers in the state and hence the Govt. will provide them Rs. 20,000 each in their bank accounts annually. The Sikkim government has sanctioned Rs 32 crore for the scheme this year.
ii.The scheme covers only those whose names are enrolled in the electoral roll of the state and a sum of Rs.100 crores has been allocated for it in the budget.
About Bahini Scheme:
The aim of this scheme is to reduce the dropout rate of girl students due to lack of accessibility/availability of Sanitary Napkins & also to ensure menstrual health and hygiene.
i.Under this scheme, over 18,000 girl students who study in class 9 and above are provided with free sanitary napkins in the state.
ii.The State Govt. also has plans to set-up sanitary napkin vending machines in schools and also increase awareness and sensitization programmes about menstrual health & hygiene.
