- The Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR), Government of India & Department of Revenue and disaster management, Government of Assam will implement the scheme with support of the Panchayat & Rural Development of Assam.
- As Technology partner, Survey of India will take steps for survey of inhabited rural land by drone technology, it will also establish ground based control stations to enable detailed spatial database of properties in rural areas.
- The implementation of SVAMITVA scheme is aimed at reducing property related disputes and legal cases.
i.It is a Central sector scheme launched on April 24, 2020 (i.e during the National Panchayati Raj Day) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under the scheme,entire village properties are surveyed by drone and property cards distributed to the owners.
ii.Objective – To provide rural people with the right to document their residential properties, so that they can use their property for economic purposes.
iii.The scheme aims to cover around 6.62 Lakh villages of India during the period 2021-25.
iv.Implementing agency – Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR), Technology – Survey of India.
