Union Home Minister Amit Shah dedicates National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal to the Nation

On January 10, 2020 National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal was dedicated to the Nation  by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. He also inaugurated Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) during the event.About National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal:

i.National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal www.cybercrime.gov.in portal was launched on August 30,2019 which helps the citizens of the Nation to report cyber crimes through online.

ii.All the cyber crime related complaints reported in this portal will be accessed by the concerned law enforcement agencies in the States and Union Territories and the actions are taken as per law.

iii.More than 700 police districts and more than 3,900 police stations have been connected with this Portal.

About  Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) :

i.The state-of-the-art Centre is located in New Delhi.

ii.The scheme to setup I4C was approved in October 2018 at an estimated cost of Rs. 415.86 crore to deal with all types of Cyber crimes.

iii.National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit, National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, National Cyber Crime Training Centre, Cyber Crime Ecosystem Management Unit, National Cyber Crime Research and Innovation Centre, National Cyber Crime Forensic Laboratory Ecosystem and Platform for Joint Cyber Crime Investigation Team are the seven components of I4C.

iv.15 States and UTs have given their consent to set up Regional Cyber Crime Coordination Centre’s at respective States/UTs.
