Tropical Cyclones ‘Lam’ and ‘Marcia’ hit Australia

Two tropical cyclones Marcia and Lam hit Australia on 20 February 2015. This is the first time that two cyclones have hit Australia at one time.

• The tropical cyclone Marcia smashed the Queensland coast between St Lawrence and Yeppoon. The storm arrived with little warning as a category-V storm, which has now been reduced to category-II.
• Other Cyclone Lam is a category IV storm which made landfall in the Northern Territory.
