SBI PO Main Exam Analysis – 31 July 2016

Dear Readers,
The overall exam was very very difficult. Reasoning was moderate to difficult and General Awareness was very easy. In GA Most of the questions were asked from June & July Current Affairs. English and Quant section were very tough. Some question has weight-age based on its difficult level.

The students were not allowed to chose the sections self. There was a order as: Reasoning>GK>English>Quant>Descriptive Paper and the next section got unlocked only when the time of first section completes.

Duration: 3 hours
Reasoning – 60 mins
General Awareness – 35 mins
English – 40 mins
Data Analysis & Interpretation – 45 mins

Reasoning & Computer Aptitude Section:
The section was moderate. There were no syllogism questions.

  • Puzzle – 5 Questions  – 7 people belongs to different cities & different profession.
  • Seating Arrangement – (Linear) – 5 Questions – 10 People (North – South). Total seats were 12. Out of 12, two seats were vacant.
  • Input –  Output – 5 Questions
  • Coded Inequality/ Coding Decoding  – 5 Questions
  • Number Coding – 5 Questions
  • Statement & Assumption – 10 Questions
  • Data Sufficiency – 5 Questions
  • Computer Aptitude- One Flow chart was given and questions were based on the chart.

General Awareness:

This section contains questions from

  • Static Gk
  • Banking Awareness

English Section:

Some new type of questions were introduced in this section. There were no  Cloze Test, Parajumbles & Spotting Error in today’s exam.

  • 2 comprehensions – 5 questions each
  • A word was given and choose its synonym/antonym – 8 questions
  • Some questions. Different Para was given in each question and one sentence missing. Fill in the sentence from given options.
  • Some questions. 5 sentences given. Arrange them to form para. And find which of these sentence does not tell the idea about that para.

  • Double Line Chart – 5 Questions
  • Missing DI – 5 Questions
  • Bar Graph (Single) – 5 Questions
  • Data Sufficiency – 5 Questions

Letter Writing:

  1. Letter to editor – increase in selfies among youth
  2.  Letter to parents – new job in new city and problems faced there
  3. Principal to Parents – Importance of parents in children education.

Essay writing:

  1. Essay on effect of Pokemon Go
  2. Importance of History of nation.
  3. Essay on positive effects of Hike in salary of an employee
