SAHAJ scheme for online release of new LPG connections

In line with Digital India vision envisaged by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan launched SAHAJ – the online release of new LPG connection for the consumers as part of its consumer friendly initiative.

Availability:

At present, the scheme will be available in 13 cities of the country, namely Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna and Pune. It will be launched pan-India within the next few days.

About the Scheme:

  • SAHAJ facility will enable the prospective customers to post online request for a new connection by filling Know Your Customer (KYC) form, uploading photographs and bank account details. After submission, the customer will receive the registration number which will be needed to know the connection status. After all done, electronic subscription voucher will be mailed to the customer and physical delivery of the Gas cylinder, regulator with hose pipe will be made by the distributor.
  • The system will automatically detect a dealer best suited for the consumer and email or message a customer ID number within 48 hours of applying.
  • The customer may opt for online or offline mode of payment for connection.
  • Customer need to go through with the portal in in order to avail this facility. Furthermore, the new system would be available on the websites of each oil company and the government’s LPG portal, Pahal.
