- It was launched on the occasion of the 130th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr B. R. Ambedkar (on April 14).
- The portal has been designed in collaboration with the Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics (BISAG-N), a Centre of Excellence under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
NCSC Grievance Portal
- Using the portal, the SC population of India can register complaints from any part of India, it will help in addressing complaints in a time-bound manner.
- The portal will facilitate an end-to-end e-filing of complaints and grievances and their tracking.
- Facility to upload documents and audio/video files are also available in the portal, it will supplement the physical submission of complaints and grievances.
- The portal is intended to make the hearing process similar to India’s e-Courts project.
National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC)
- It is a constitutional body set up under Article 338 of the Constitution of India.
- It was set up to provide safeguards against exploitation of SC & Anglo Indian Communities to promote and protect their social, educational, economic and cultural interests.
