On 30th December 2021 Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 23 projects worth over Rs 17,500 crore in Uttarakhand.
- Among the 23 projects, the foundation stone is being laid for 17 projects worth over Rs 14,100 crore.
Inaugurated Projects:
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the projects cover various sectors including irrigation, road, housing, health infrastructure, industry, sanitation, and drinking water supply (The cumulative cost of the project is around Rs. 3400 Crore)
i.He laid the foundation stone of the Lakhwar Multipurpose Project which was first started in 1976 and was pending for many years (~46 Years).
ii.He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of Rs 8700 crore road sector projects which contributed to PM’s vision to improve connectivity in remote, rural and border areas.
- Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will also get improved connectivity.
iii.He also laid the foundation stone of AIIMS Rishikesh satellite centre at Udham Singh Nagar at the cost of Rs. 500 Crores and Jagjivan Ram Government Medical College at Pithoragarh at the cost of Rs. 450 Crores.
iv.He laid the foundation stone of Aroma Park at Kashipur and Plastic Industrial Park at Sitarganj
Other Development Projects:
Multiple road projects have been inaugurated across the state under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
i.Four lanes of 85 km Moradabad-Kashipur Road worth Rs 4000 crore and National Highway (NH109D) worth 175 Crore.
ii.Two Lanes of 22 Km stretch of Gadarpur-Dineshpur-Madkota-Haldwani (SH-5) and 18 Km Stretch from Kiccha to Pantnagar (SH-44).
iii.8 Km Long Khatima Bypass in Udham Singh Nagar.
iv.99 Km of road widening project from Nagina to Kashipur (NH-74) worth Rs 2500 Crore will be built.
v.Two sewage treatment plants of 7 Million Litres per Day (MLD) and 1.5 MLD capacity worth Rs 50 crore at Ramnagar, Nainital.
