Top 10 on the 2023 ranking:
i.In 2023, the top 10 cities providing a high QOL include 7 locations in Western Europe, 2 from the Pacific, and 1 from North America.
- For the Pacific region, Auckland claims 3rd place, while in North America, Vancouver(Canada) claims 8th rank.
ii.Several cities from Germany featured prominently in the ranking, with Frankfurt, Munich, and Dusseldorf ranking 6th, 7th, and 10, respectively.
Points to note:
i.Singapore ranked 29, and first among the Asian cities offers a clean and safe environment combined with highly efficient infrastructure.
ii.Places with lower QOL include several African cities -N’Djamena (Chad), Bangui (Central African Republic), and Khartoum (Sudan), rank 236th, 239th and 241st, respectively.
iii.In the United Kingdom (UK), London secures the 45th position, followed by Aberdeen (49th), Edinburgh (51st), Glasgow (54th), Birmingham (60th), and Belfast (67th).
iv.In the Middle East, Dubai, ranked at 79th place, and Abu Dhabi, ranked at 84th place, are the 2 major cities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
