Indian paddlers win Gold at World Table Tennis Championship

Manika leading from the front contributed Indian women table tennis team lifted their game by several cuts and won gold in the second division of the World Table Tennis Championship 2016 Held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Women’s Table Tennis Team Created History:

  • This is for the first time in12 years in women’s Tables Tennis history. The team beat Luxemburg 3-1 in the second division final before their male counterparts overcame a stiff competition from Brazil.Womens Tennis team
  • Their Winning streak with top finish followed the exceptional achievements on Friday night of qualifying for the next edition’s champions division
  • Incidentally, this was the first time ever that the women’s team have kept a clean slate at the World Championships.
  • Indian Team cemented their hopes on the most experienced Mouma Das who continued to prove that she is country’s Numero Uno star in the game.
  • The team were at a peak performance along with Manika and MoumaKumaresanShamini was responsible for the great show.

Men’s Table Tennis Team:

  • Men’s Table Tennis team defeated Brazil in the Second Division of Tournament held at Kuala Lumpur.
  • The Men’s team bounced back after losing their only group match against Nigeria to achive the highest feet.
