Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Uttar Pradesh on February 19,2024On 19th February 2024, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi visited Uttar Pradesh(UP). During the visit, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects.

i.PM Modi launched 14000 projects worth Rs 10 lakh crore in UP

ii.He laid the foundation stone of Shri Kalki Dham temple in Sambhal

iii.He also laid the Foundation stone for 4 power projects developed by Torrent Power in UP

PM Modi launched 14000 projects worth Rs 10 lakh crore in UP

on 19th February 2024, PM Modi launched 14000 projects worth over Rs 10 Lakh crore across Uttar Pradesh (UP) at the 4th Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC 4.0) of UP Global Investors Summit 2023 (UPGIS 2023) in Lucknow, UP.

  • Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister (CM) of UP; Anandiben Patel, Governor of UP and Union Minister Rajnath Singh, Ministry of Defence were present during the event.

Details of the projects: 

The 14000 projects across UP are related to sectors like Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, IT(Information Technology) & ITeS(IT enabled Services), Food Processing, Housing & Real Estate, Hospitality and Entertainment, and Education among others.

Highlights of GBC 4.0: 

i.PM Modi toured the exhibition held on the sidelines of GBC 4.0 to showcase the progress of major development projects across various sectors in UP.

ii.PM visited ALT Swantex’s textile pavilion and examined presentations on apparel and leather techniques, gaining an understanding of UP’s advancements in these sectors.

iii.He also explored the growing landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) in the country and the ETH AI center in UP. The exhibition showcased advancements in robotics, including Industrial Robotic Arms and Droids Robotics.

iv.At the defence sector pavilion, the PM was briefed on UP’s advancements through replicas of defence equipment and a functional prototype of advanced bulletproof military vehicles.

v.The exhibition also showcased UP’s progress in tourism, clean energy, and infrastructure including 3D models of the Shri Ram Temple and the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor entrance.

Additional Information

i.UP Government recently inaugurated South Asia’s largest ammunition facility in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor, capable of producing 400 rounds of ammunition per minute (Small Calibre) to be built on 100 acres of land.

  • The plant will produce medium and large caliber ammunition plant and will be entirely powered by green energy, ensuring environmentally sustainable operations.

ii.The UP government will set up AI centers in Lucknow and Noida. It will be built at the Gautam Buddha University of Greno, UP.

  • Centers will provide AI solutions and promote awareness of AI in sectors such as agriculture, education, and health.
  • It will focus on developing technology solutions and driving AI skilling programs for government officials and employees.

PM Modi Laid Foundation Stone of Shri Kalki Dham Temple in Sambhal

PM Modi laid the foundation stone and unveiled the model of Shri Kalki Dham Temple in Sambhal district, UP.

  • The temple is being constructed by Shri Kalki Dham Nirman Trust under the leadership of Acharya Pramod Krishnam.

i.The temple will have 10 garbh grihas for all 10 avatars of the Lord Vishnu.

ii.Kalki Dham is going to be a place dedicated to the 10th Avatar of Lord Vishnu (Kalki), which is yet to be incarnated.

PM Modi Laid the Foundation Stone for 4 Power Projects in UP

PM Modi laid the foundation stone for four projects being developed by Torrent Power in UP at an investment of about Rs 25,000 crore.

  • These four plants are expected to generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for approximately 8,000 people.

Key Points:

i.The projects include two pumped storage hydro projects in Sonbhadra district, with a total capacity of 4,150 MW

ii.150 MW solar power plant in Lalitpur district (Bundelkhkand region of UP)

iii.A pilot green hydrogen production facility will be set up in Gorakhpur, where green hydrogen will be produced and blended with the gas distribution network being built by Torrent Gas.
