1. Jeopardy – risks, जोखिम

Meaning – danger of loss, harm, or failure.

Usage – “the whole peace process is in jeopardy”

synonyms –: danger, peril; at risk; endangerment, imperilment, insecurity; perilousness, riskiness, precariousness, uncertainty, instability, vulnerability, threat, menace etc.

2. Peasant – farmer class,  कृषक वर्ग

Meaning – A peasant is a member of a traditional class of farmers, either laborers or owners of small farms.

Usage – “peasant farmers”

synonyms – agricultural worker, small farmer, rustic, son of the soil, countryman, countrywoman, farmhand, swain, villein, serf; paysan; muzhik, kulak; campesino, paisano; contadino; fellah; ryot; archaiccarl, cottier, kern, hind.

3. Extol – praise, प्रंशसा

Meaning – praise enthusiastically.

Usage – “he extolled the virtues of the Russian peoples”

synonyms – praise enthusiastically, go into raptures about/over, wax lyrical about, sing the praises of, praise to the skies, heap praise on, eulogize, rhapsodize over, rave about, enthuse about/over, gush about/over, throw bouquets at, express delight over.

4. Clumsy – awkward, बेढंगा

Meaning – awkward in movement or in handling things.

Usage – “the cold made his fingers clumsy”

synonyms – awkward, uncoordinated, ungainly, graceless, ungraceful, inelegant, gawky, gauche, gangling, cloddish, blundering, lumbering; bungling, bumbling, fumbling, inept, maladroit, unskilful, inexpert, unhandy, accident-prone.

5. Harbinger – predecessor, अग्रदूत

Meaning – a person or thing that announces or signals the approach of another.

Usage – “witch hazels are the harbingers of spring”

synonyms – herald, sign, indicator, indication, signal, prelude, portent, omen, augury, forewarning, presage, announcer; forerunner, precursor, messenger, usher; avant-courier.

6. Quench – satisfied, संतुष्ट

Meaning – satisfy (one’s thirst) by drinking.

Usage – “firemen hauled on hoses in a desperate bid to quench the flames”

synonyms – extinguish, put out, snuff out, smother, douse, dampen down.

7. Wrangling – bargaining, मोलभाव

Meaning – have a long, complicated dispute or argument.

Usage – “the bureaucrats continue wrangling over the fine print”

synonyms – argue, quarrel, row, have a row, bicker, squabble, have words, debate, disagree, have a disagreement, have an altercation, be at odds, bandy words; contend, fight, have a fight, war, battle, feud, clash, grapple, brawl, spar, wrestle.

8. Peachy – good, अच्छी

Meaning – of the nature or appearance of a peach.

Usage – “everything is just peachy”

synonyms – attractive; excellent.

9. Bewitch – attractive, आकर्षक

Meaning – gerund or present participle, cast a spell over (someone).

Usage – “a handsome prince who had been bewitched by a sorceress”

synonyms – captivate, enchant, entrance, enrapture, charm, beguile, delight, fascinate, enthral, seduce, ravish, spellbind, hold spellbound, mesmerize, hypnotize, transfix; rarerapture.

10. Axiom – saying, सूक्ति

Meaning – a statement or proposition which is regarded as being established, accepted, or self-evidently true.

Usage – “the axiom that sport builds character”

synonyms – accepted truth, general truth, dictum, truism, principle; proposition, postulate; maxim, saying, adage, aphorism; rareapophthegm, gnome.
