1. tumultuous – unquiet,  अशान्त

Meaning – making an uproar or loud, confused noise.

Usage – a tumultuous crowd.

synonyms – loud, deafening, thunderous, thundering, ear-shattering, ear-splitting, ear-piercing, uproarious, noisy, clamorous, vociferous etc.

2. grapple – deal, सामना

Meaning – engage in a close fight or struggle without weapons; wrestle.

Usage – an instrument for seizing hold of something; a grappling hook.

synonyms – wrestle, struggle, tussle etc.

3. intransigently – stubbornly, अटलता

Meaning – unwilling or refusing to change one’s views or to agree about something.

Usage – her father had tried persuasion, but she was intransigent”.

synonyms – uncompromising, inflexible, unbending, unyielding, unshakeable, unwavering, resolute, unpersuadable, unmalleable, unaccommodating, uncooperative, stubborn.

4. Discernment – recognize, जानना

Meaning – the ability to judge well.

Usage – “an astonishing lack of discernment”

Synonyms – judgement, taste, discrimination, refinement, cultivation, sophistication, enlightenment, sensitivity, subtlety; insight, perceptiveness, perception, perspicacity etc.

5. Thwart – unsuccessful, व्यर्थ

Meaning – prevent (someone) from accomplishing something.

Usage – “he never did anything to thwart his father”

6. Impunity – free from punishment, दण्डमुक्ति

Meaning – exemption from punishment or freedom from the injurious consequences of an action.

Usage – “the impunity enjoyed by military officers implicated in civilian killings”

synonyms – immunity, indemnity, exemption from punishment, freedom from punishment, exemption, non-liability, licence; amnesty, dispensation, pardon, reprieve, stay of execution, exoneration; privilege, special treatment, favouritism etc.

7. Sceptical – distrustful, संशयवाद

Meaning – not easily convinced; having doubts or reservations.

Usage – “the public were deeply sceptical about some of the proposals”

Synonyms – dubious, doubtful, having reservations, taking something with a pinch of salt, doubting, questioning; cynical, distrustful, mistrustful, suspicious, disbelieving, misbelieving, unconvinced, incredulous, hesitant, scoffing; pessimistic, defeatist; informaliffy; rarePyrrhonist, minimifidian etc.

8. Crescendo – increasing, बढ़ता हुआ

Meaning – a progressive increase in intensity.

Usage – “a crescendo of misery”

9. Vehement – strong, मजबूत

Meaning – showing strong feeling; forceful, passionate, or intense.

Usage – “her voice was low but vehement”

Synonyms – passionate, forceful, ardent, impassioned, heated, spirited, urgent, fervent, fervid, strong, forcible, powerful, emphatic, vigorous, animated, intense, violent, fierce, earnest, eager, keen, enthusiastic, zealous, fanatical etc.

10. Exorbitant – exceeding, बहुत ज्यादा

Meaning – (of a price or amount charged) unreasonably high.

Usage – “some hotels charge exorbitant rates for phone calls”

Synonyms – extortionate, excessively high, extremely high, excessive, sky-high, prohibitive, outrageous, unreasonable, preposterous, inordinate, immoderate, inflated, monstrous, unwarranted, unconscionable, huge, enormous, disproportionate etc.
