1. Impetus – purpose, उद्देश्य

Meaning – the force or energy with which a body moves.

Synonyms – momentum, propulsion, impulsion, impelling force, motive force, driving force, drive, thrust.

Usage – “hit the booster coil before the flywheel loses all its impetus”

2. Patchy – uneven, अपूर्ण

Meaning – existing or happening in small, isolated areas.

Synonyms – uneven, bitty, varying, variable, variegated, dappled, mottled, speckled, multicoloured.

Usage – “patchy fog”

3. Cozy – comfortable,  सुखद

Meaning – giving a feeling of comfort, warmth, and relaxation.

Synonyms – snug, comfortable, warm, restful, homelike, homey, homely, cheerful, welcoming, pleasant, agreeable.

Usage – “the flickering lamp gave the room a cosy lived-in air”

4. Confluence – meeting, संगम

Meaning – the junction of two rivers, especially rivers of approximately equal width.

Synonyms – convergence, meeting, junction, joining, conflux, watersmeet, sangam.

Usage – “the confluence of the Rivers Ouse and Foss”

5. consolidation – integration, सुदृढ़ीकरण

Meaning – the action or process of integrating.

Synonyms – combination, amalgamation, incorporation, unification, consolidation, merger, fusing, blending, meshing, homogenization, homogenizing, coalescing, assimilation.

Usage – “economic and political integration”

6. Entente – friendly alliance, स्नेहपूर्ण समझोता

Meaning – a friendly understanding or informal alliance between states or factions.

Synonyms – understanding, agreement, arrangement, entente cordiale, covenant, settlement; deal, alliance, treaty, pact, accord, compact, concordat, protocol, convention.

Usage – “the emperor hoped to bring about an entente with Russia”

7. Unyielding – stubborn, ज़िद्दी

Meaning – (of a mass or structure) not giving way to pressure; hard or solid.

Synonyms – stiff, inflexible, unpliable, non-flexible, unbending, inelastic, firm, hard, solid, tough, tight, taut, compact.

Usage – “the Atlantic hurled its waves at the unyielding rocks”

8. Sacrosanct – holy, अतिपवित्र

Meaning – (especially of a principle, place, or routine) regarded as too important or valuable to be interfered with.

Synonyms – sacred, hallowed, respected, inviolable, inviolate, unimpeachable, unchallengeable, invulnerable, untouchable, inalienable.

Usage – “the individual’s right to work has been upheld as sacrosanct”

9. Sheer – complete, नीरा

Meaning – nothing other than; unmitigated (used for emphasis).

Synonyms – utter, complete, absolute, total, pure, perfect, downright, out-and-out, thorough, thoroughgoing, through and through, consummate, patent, surpassing.

Usage – “she giggled with sheer delight”

10. Foster – nurture, बढ़ावा

Meaning – encourage the development of (something, especially something desirable).

Synonyms –  encourage, promote, further, stimulate, advance, forward, cultivate, nurture, strengthen, enrich, help, aid, abet, assist, contribute to, support

Usage – “the teacher’s task is to foster learning”
