1. – Trenchant – effective,  प्रभावी

Meaning – vigorous or incisive in expression or style.

Usage – “the White Paper makes trenchant criticisms of health authorities”

Synonyms – incisive, cutting, pointed, piercing, penetrating, sharp, keen, acute, razor-sharp, razor-edged, rapier-like; vigorous, forceful, strong, telling, emphatic, etc.

2. – Diminutive – small,  छोटा

Meaning – extremely or unusually small.

Usage – “a diminutive figure dressed in black”

Synonyms – tiny, small, little, petite, minute, miniature, mini, minuscule, microscopic, nanoscopic, small-scale, compact, pocket, toy, midget, undersized, short, stubby, elfin, dwarfish, etc.

3. – Augment – increase,  बढ़ाना

Meaning – make (something) greater by adding to it; increase.

Usage – “her secretarial work helped to augment her husband’s income”

Synonyms – increase, make larger, make bigger, make greater, add to, supplement, top up, build up, enlarge, expand, extend, raise, multiply, elevate, swell, inflate; magnify, intensify, amplify, heighten, escalate, worsen etc.

4. – Encumbrance – burden,  भार

Meaning – an impediment or burden.

Usage – “the horse raised its hind leg as if to rid itself of an encumbrance”

Synonyms – hindrance, obstruction, obstacle, impediment, restraint, constraint, handicap, inconvenience, nuisance, disadvantage, drawback; archaiccumber etc.

5. – Staggeringly – hugely,  अत्यधिकता

Meaning – walk or move unsteadily, as if about to fall.

Usage – “he staggered to his feet, swaying a little”

Synonyms – lurch, walk unsteadily, reel, sway, teeter, totter, stumble, wobble, move clumsily, weave, flounder, falter, pitch, roll etc.

6. – hazardous – perilous, खतरनाक

Meaning – risky, dangerous.

Usage – “we work in hazardous conditions”

Synonyms – dangerous, risky, unsafe, perilous, precarious, insecure, tricky, unpredictable, uncertain, high-risk, touch-and-go, fraught with danger; informaldicey, hairy, sticky etc.

7. – Inclination – tendency,  इरादा

Meaning – a person’s natural tendency or urge to act or feel in a particular way; a disposition.

Usage – “John was a scientist by training and inclination”

Synonyms – tendency, propensity, proclivity, leaning; predisposition, disposition, predilection, weakness, proneness; desire, wish, readiness, impulse; bent; archaiclist, humour; rarevelleity etc.

8. – Propel – motivate,  प्रोत्साहित

Meaning – drive or push something forwards.

Usage – “the boat is propelled by using a very long paddle”

Synonyms – push/move forwards, move, set in motion, get moving, drive, throw, thrust, toss, fling, hurl, lob, let fly, launch, pitch, project, send, shoot etc.

9. – sag – loose,  ढीला

Meaning – sink, subside, or bulge downwards under weight or pressure or through lack of strength.

Usage – “she let her head sag lower and lower”

Synonyms – sink, subside, slump, crumple, loll, flop etc.

10. – Adhere – follow,  पालन

Meaning – stick fast to (a surface or substance).

Usage – “paint won’t adhere well to a greasy surface”

Synonyms – stick, stick fast, cling, hold fast, cohere, bond, attach; be stuck, be fixed, be pasted, be glued etc.
