  1. Recreation – मनोरंजन

Meaning – activity done for enjoyment when one is not working.

Synonyms – pleasure, leisure, relaxation, fun, enjoyment, entertainment, amusement, refreshment, restoration, distraction, diversion; play, sport; informalR and R, jollies; informalbeer and skittles; informalrec; archaicdisport.

Usage – “she rides for recreation”

2. Disposable –  प्रयोग के लिये उपलब्ध

Meaning – (of an article) intended to be thrown away after use.

Synonyms – throwaway, expendable, one-use, non-returnable, replaceable; paper, plastic; biodegradable, photodegradable.

Usage – “disposable nappies”

3. Irrevocable – स्थिर

Meaning – not able to be changed, reversed, or recovered; final.

Synonyms – irreversible, unrectifiable, irremediable, irreparable, unrepairable, beyond repair; unalterable, unchangeable, immutable, final, binding, absolute, permanent, lasting; peremptory, unappealable.

Usage – “an irrevocable step”

4. Gallant – वीर

Meaning – (of a person or their behaviour) brave; heroic.

Synonyms – brave, courageous, valiant, valorous, bold, plucky, daring, fearless, intrepid, heroic, lionhearted, stout-hearted, doughty, mettlesome, great-spirited; honourable, noble, manly, manful, macho, dashing, daredevil, death-or-glory, undaunted, unflinching, unshrinking, unafraid, dauntless, indomitable; informalgutsy, spunky, ballsy, have-a-go; rareventurous.

Usage – “she had made gallant efforts to pull herself together”

5. Flippant – क्षुद्र

Meaning – not showing a serious or respectful attitude.

Synonyms – frivolous, superficial, shallow, glib, thoughtless, carefree, irresponsible, insouciant, offhand; disrespectful, irreverent, facetious, cheeky, pert, overfamiliar, impudent, impertinent; informalflip; informalsaucy; informalsassy.

Usage – “a flippant remark”

6. Prevalent – प्रचलित

Meaning – widespread in a particular area or at a particular time.

Synonyms – widespread, prevailing, frequent, usual, common, general, universal, pervasive, extensive, ubiquitous, ordinary; endemic, rampant, rife; recognized, established, accepted; current, popular, fashionable, in fashion, in style, in vogue

Usage – “the social ills prevalent in society today”

7. Swathe – लपेटना

Meaning – a row or line of grass, corn, or other crop as it falls or lies when mown or reaped.

Usage – “if the day is windy, the swathes should be high and narrow”

8. Coaxing – मीठी बातें से मनाना

Meaning – persuade (someone) gradually or gently to do something.

Synonyms – persuade, wheedle, cajole, talk into something, get round, prevail on, beguile, flatter, seduce, lure, entice, tempt, inveigle, woo, manoeuvre; informalsweet-talk, soft-soap, butter up, twist someone’s arm; archaicblandish.

9. Shelved – हटाया हुआ

Meaning – place or arrange (items, especially books) on a shelf.

Usage – “we had catalogued and shelved all the books shipped in that day”

10. Sordid – घिनौना

Meaning – involving immoral or dishonourable actions and motives; arousing moral distaste and contempt.

Synonyms – sleazy, seedy, seamy, unsavoury, shoddy, vile, foul, tawdry, louche, cheap, base, low, low-minded, debased, degenerate, corrupt, dishonest, dishonourable, disreputable, despicable, discreditable, contemptible, ignominious, ignoble, shameful, wretched, abhorrent, abominable, disgusting; informalsleazoid.
