1. Revolt – विद्रोह

Meaning – take violent action against an established government or ruler; rebel.

Synonyms – rebel, rise up, rise, take to the streets, take up arms, riot, mutiny, take part in an uprising, show resistance; resist/oppose authority, disobey/defy authority.

Usage – the Iceni revolted and had to be suppressed.

2. Stride – छलाँग

Meaning – walk with long, decisive steps in a specified direction.

Synonyms – march, stalk, pace, tread, step, walk.

Usage – he strode across the road.

3. Resentment – नाराज़गी

Meaning – bitter indignation at having been treated unfairly.

Synonyms – bitterness, indignation, irritation, pique, displeasure, dissatisfaction, disgruntlement, discontentment, discontent, resentfulness, bad feelings, hard feelings, ill feelings, acrimony, rancour, animosity, hostility, jaundice, antipathy, antagonism, enmity, hatred, hate; envy.

Usage – his resentment at being demoted.

4. Backlash – प्रतिक्रिया

Meaning – a strong negative reaction by a large number of people, especially to a social or political development.

Synonyms – adverse reaction/response, counteraction, counterblast, comeback, recoil; retaliation, reprisal; repercussions, reverberations, fallout, backwash.

Usage – the move provoked a furious backlash from union leaders.

5. Plummet – सीसे का भार

Meaning – fall or drop straight down at high speed.

Synonyms – a climber was killed when he plummeted 300 feet down an icy gully.

Usage – plunge, fall headlong, hurtle, nosedive, dive, drop, crash, descend rapidly.

6. Crumble – टुकड़े टुकड़े करना

Meaning – break or fall apart into small fragments, especially as part of a process of deterioration.

Synonyms – disintegrate, fall down, fall to pieces, fall apart, collapse, break down/up, tumble down, fragment; decay, fall into decay, deteriorate, degenerate, go to rack and ruin, decompose, rot, rot away, come apart at the seams, moulder, perish.

Usage – the building is crumbling away.

7. Scramble – संघर्ष

Meaning – make one’s way quickly or awkwardly up a steep gradient or over rough ground by using one’s hands as well as one’s feet.

Synonyms – clamber, climb, crawl, claw one’s way, scrabble, grope one’s way; shinny.

Usage – we scrambled over the damp boulders.

8. Profligate – अपव्ययी

Meaning – recklessly extravagant or wasteful in the use of resources.

Synonyms – wasteful, extravagant, spendthrift, improvident, prodigal, immoderate, excessive, thriftless, imprudent, reckless, irresponsible.

Usage – profligate consumers of energy.

9. Privilege – विशेषाधिकार

Meaning – a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group.

Synonyms – education is a right, not a privilege.

Usage – advantage, right, benefit, prerogative, entitlement, birthright, due; concession, freedom, liberty.

10. Outpace – आगे बढ़ना

Meaning – go, rise, or improve faster than.

Usage – he outpaced all six defenders.
