1. Repartee – हाजिर जवाबी

Meaning – conversation or speech characterized by quick, witty comments or replies.

Synonyms – banter, badinage, witty conversation, bantering, raillery, witticism, crosstalk, wordplay, patter; witty remarks, witticisms, ripostes, sallies, quips; joking, jesting, teasing, chaff, chaffing, drollery; bons mots; rarepersiflage.

Usage – he had a quick mind and a splendid gift of repartee.

2. Reverie – भावना

Meaning – a state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts; a daydream.

Synonyms – daydream, daydreaming, trance, fantasy, vision, fancy, hallucination, musing; inattention, inattentiveness, wool-gathering, preoccupation, obliviousness, engrossment, absorption, self-absorption, absent-mindedness, abstraction, lack of concentration.

Usage – a knock on the door broke her reverie.

3. Enigma – पहेली

Meaning – a person or thing that is mysterious or difficult to understand.

Synonyms – mystery, puzzle, riddle, conundrum, paradox, problem, unsolved problem, question, question mark, quandary, a closed book; informalposer, teaser, brain-teaser, stumper.

4. Inclement – कठोर

Meaning – (of the weather) unpleasantly cold or wet.

Synonyms – cold, chilly, bitter, bleak, raw, wintry, freezing, snowy, icy; wet, rainy, drizzly, damp; stormy, blustery, wild, rough, squally, tempestuous, windy; unpleasant, bad, foul, nasty, filthy, severe, extreme, harsh, adverse.

5. Probity – ईमानदारी

Meaning – the quality of having strong moral principles; honesty and decency.

Synonyms – integrity, honesty, uprightness, decency, morality, rectitude, goodness, virtue, right-mindedness, trustworthiness, truthfulness, honour, honourableness, justice, fairness, equity; principles, ethics.

Usage – the chancellor exuded competence and fiscal probity.

6. Impost – चुंगी

Meaning – a tax or similar compulsory payment.

Usage – some of the labels are used for the purpose of collecting Customs duty or other imposts.

7. Pecuniary – धन-संबंधी

Meaning – relating to or consisting of money.

Synonyms – financial, monetary, money, fiscal, economic, capital, commercial, budgetary.

Usage – he admitted obtaining a pecuniary advantage by deception.

8. Forgo – त्यागना

Meaning – go without (something desirable).

9. Sordid – घिनौना

Meaning – involving immoral or dishonourable actions and motives; arousing moral distaste and contempt.

10. Emulate – अनुकरण करना

Meaning – match or surpass (a person or achievement), typically by imitation.

Synonyms – copy, reproduce, mimic, mirror, echo, follow, model oneself on, take as a model, take as an example; match, equal, parallel, be the equal of, be on a par with, be in the same league as, come near to, come close to, approximate; compete with, contend with, rival, vie with, surpass.
