Droupadi Murmu President of India’s Visit to Rajasthan from 3 to 4 January 2023

President of India Visit to Rajasthan on January 3 to 4 -StartDroupadi Murmu, President of India, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various projects during her 2-day visit to Rajasthan from 3rd to 4th January 2023.

  • She inaugurated Samvidhan Udyan at Raj Bhavan, Jaipur and met with the member of the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups’ Communities of Rajasthan.
  • She also virtually inaugurated the Transmission System for Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan and laid the foundation stone for the 1000 megawatt (MW) Bikaner Solar Power Project.
  • She also participated in the launch of a National Campaign on ‘RISE-Rising India through Spiritual Empowerment’, organized by Brahma Kumaris at Mount Abu.
  • She also inaugurated the 18th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides in Rajasthan.

Highlights of her visit: 

Inauguration of Samvidhan Udyan At Raj Bhavan Jaipur

On 3rd January 2023, the President of India, inaugurated Samvidhan Udyan, Mayur Stambh, National Flag Post, and statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Maharana Pratap at Raj Bhavan, Jaipur.

  • During the event, she also virtually inaugurated the Transmission System for Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan and laid the foundation stone for the 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project of SJVN Limited(formerly known as Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam).

Key Points:

i.The Udyan displays the description of the historical journey of 3 years of Constitution making in an artistic manner.

ii.Samvidhan Udyan showcases the major chapter of the modern history of India through elegant paintings, sculptures and other art forms.

iii.Since the enactment of the Constitution in 1950, A total of 105 amendments have been made so far.

1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project:

i.Commissioning of this project would support India to achieve the renewable target of 500 GW by 2030.

ii.The project is being developed on 5000 acres of land near village Banderwala in Bikaner, Rajasthan at a cost of Rs 5492 crore with a viability Gap funding support of Rs 44.72 lakhs per Megawatt from Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA).

iii.The project is expected to be commissioned by March 2024 and it is expected to generate around 2454.55 million units in the first year and 56838 Million units over 25 years.

Launch of National Campaign on ‘RISE-Rising India through Spiritual Empowerment:

On 3rd January 2023, Droupadi Murmu participated in the event to launch the National Campaign on “RISE-Rising India through Spiritual Empowerment”, organized by Brahma Kumaris at Mount Abu, Rajasthan.

  • She also virtually inaugurated the Brahma Kumaris Silence Retreat Centre in Secunderabad, Telangana and laid the foundation stone for Brahma Kumaris Auditorium and Spiritual Art Gallery at Indore, Madhya Pradesh(MP).
  • She also visited the memorial of Dadi Hridayamohini, Former Chief of Brahma Kumaris, called Avyakt Lok.

About RISE Campaign: 

i.The RISE Campaign aims to empower the nation through spirituality.

ii.The campaign would contribute towards making India a leading nation by spiritually empowering its people and supporting the welfare of the entire humanity.

iii.Under this campaign the Brahma Kumaris aim to make India great through spirituality, in the next 25 years.

Brahma Kumaris organisation:

i.Brahma Kumaris organization is running about 5000 meditation centers in 137 countries.

ii.It is the largest spiritual organization run by women in which they play leading roles assisted by the spiritual brothers.

18th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides:

On 4th January 2023, Droupadi Murmu President of India inaugurated the 18th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides at Pali, Rajasthan.

  • Bharat Scouts and Guides, a membership of over 63 lakh Scouts and Guides, is the largest voluntary, non-political, uniformed youth organization and educational movement in India.
  • The 1st National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides was organized at Hyderabad in 1953.

Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, paid her maiden visit to Gujarat from October 3 to 4, 2022, after assuming office in July 2022. During her visit, she visited the Mahatma Gandhi Ashram at Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

  • She inaugurated and laid the groundwork for a number of projects totalling Rs. 1,330 crores at the GMERS (Gujarat Medical Education & Research Society) campus in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
