     The regulations will come into effect from 1st July 2024.
    i. The amendment prohibits the telecom operators from issuing a “Unique Porting Code (UPC)”, the 1st step to changing service providers using MNP.
    ii. As per the amendment, if a SIM card is swapped or replaced, the associated mobile number cannot be ported out to another telecom operator for 7 days.
