- The Two entities will also undertake Joint Development in areas of advanced composites and autoclaves, mini-unmanned aerial vehicles, design & analysis of aircraft structure & systems.
- The MoU was exchanged between A K Srivastav, Director Defence and Aerospace, BEML & R Venkatesh, Director, Business Development of NAL.
- The agreement will help BEML to enhance its presence in the aerospace sector.
HAL receives Proposal for 70 basic Trainer Aircraft:
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has received a Request for Proposal (RFP) to manufacture 70 Trainer Aircraft HTT 40 from Indian Air Force (IAF).
- HTT is indigenously designed and developed by HAL.
- The production works will be carried out at HAL’s 2 manufacturing units at Bengaluru & Nashik (Maharashtra).
- The indigenous contents on the Trainer Aircrafts is set to be more than 60% and will be supported by Agencies like Centre for Military Airworthiness & Certification (CEMILAC), Regional Director Aeronautical Quality Assurance (RDAQA), Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE) and others.
- IAF stated that it may place an order for 38 more HTT 40 Trainer Aircrafts in the future.
- The RFP has come within six years from the first flight of HAL which is the shortest time-line in aircraft industry.
