Thilanga Sumathipala, who was recently elected as the President of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), has also become the head of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
- He will succeed Sri Lankan Jayantha Dharmadasa.
1964 born Uduwatuwage Janath Priya Thilanga Sumathipala is a Sri Lankan politician who is currently the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka since 2015.
- Thilanga Sumathipala has served as the President of ACC during the year 1997-1998.
- He was the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka in 1997–1998, 2000–2001 and 2003–2004.
- From 1998–2000 he was the director of the International Cricket Council.
- He was also the chairman of the Asian Cricket Committee in 2000–2001.
- Previously he served as Deputy Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training.
- He is also the chairman of the Thimbirigasyaya Divisional Secretariat Development Coordination Committee and the managing director of one of the largest private corporate groups of companies in Sri Lanka.
