2021 EE British Academy Film Awards: Nomadland Won 4 BAFTA’s Including Best Picture

The winners of the 74th edition of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts(BAFTA)’s annual film awards – 2021 EE British Academy Film Awards were announced and presented over 2 ceremonies on 10th and 11th April 2021 over a virtual platform.

The award ceremony was broadcasted by BBC in the United Kingdom and across the globe.

The film “Nomadland” directed by Chloé Zhao won the 2021 EE British Academy Film Awards under 4 categories – Best Film, Best Director, Best Leading Actress and Best Cinematography.

Acclaimed filmmaker Ang Lee received a Bafta Fellowship, the organisation’s highest honour.

  • The award ceremony was hosted by Edith Bowman and Dermot O’Leary at the Royal Albert Hall, London, United Kingdom.
  • The opening night ceremony was hosted by Clara Amfo.

Highlights:

i.The film “Promising Young Women” won 2 awards under Outstanding British Film, and Original Screenplay categories.

ii.The film “The Father” won 2 awards under Best Leading Actor and Adapted Screenplay.

iii.Bukky Bakray won the EE Rising Star Award which was voted by the public.

iv.Noel Clarke, the British multi-hyphenate behind the Hood franchise and the hit TV series Bulletproof, will receive 2021 Outstanding British Contribution To Cinema honorary award at the BAFTA
